Our History

INDCO, Inc. was founded in 1975 as a producer of industrial mixers for the paint and coatings industry. Charles E. Broadus, a former employee of EI DuPont, launched the company from his New Albany, Indiana residence where it operated for nearly 11 years. By 1986, growth had extended to the chemical industry and beyond requiring new facilities. The current location at 4040 Earnings Way in the New Albany Industrial Park was purchased. The first INDCO catalog was mailed that same year and featured 11 pages of portable mixers.

INDCO experienced tremendous evolution and growth throughout the 1990, with the first INDCO.com website going live in 1994. New products and acquisitions increased the company’s offering. The INDCO Mix Master paint shaker was introduced in 1995, and the Simmonds Slicker line of five-gallon pail mixers was acquired in 1996.

Significant investment continued into the new century as the building experienced multiple expansions, increasing office and production space. A 2006 major investment in CNC machining centers and expertise improved quality, costs, and lead times. This was followed with the implementation of our current ERP system in 2007, enabling INDCO to rapidly provide detailed quotes, customer order acknowledgments, and order history.

During the recessionary years beginning in 2009, INDCO continued to grow its product line and to invest in business improvements. Our line of deluxe sanitary pharmaceutical mixers and a more modern e-commerce capable website were introduced in 2011. Today, we serve thousands of loyal customers in a wide variety of industries and applications. With an average of nearly 10 years of service per employee (including several over 15 years), we have the skills, experience, and knowledge to support your mixing system needs with the right equipment built to high-quality standards.
